Success Doncaster (LEGI) Business Buddies

Expires: 8th Feb 2008

Doncaster’s Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI) Programme, Success Doncaster, has ambitious plans to transform the local culture of enterprise.

Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council requires suitably qualified, experienced and dynamic organisations to deliver the following strands of the Success Doncaster programme.

Business Buddies (Contract reference number DMBC/07 6123)

Success Doncaster requires suitably qualified, experienced and dynamic organisations to deliver the Business Buddies programme. The delivery organisation will need to develop and implement creative solutions that will achieve the required outcomes. The focus of this project is to encourage growth of existing businesses by delivering a tailor made package of support. The target beneficiaries include “hard to reach” businesses who have been untouched by mainstream business support.

Six Business Buddies will be appointed to cover each of the target areas and an additional specialist Business Buddy will be appointed to focus on supporting the Black and Minority Ethnic communities. The Business Buddies will ensure that clients and existing public, private or voluntary sector delivery organisations increase their knowledge of each other. The Business Buddies will make themselves available on a roving basis (literally as streetwalkers) as a visible and trusted source of advice on all business issues.
