Adwick St Laurence Community Centre
We provide an affordable community and resource centre for a variety of community users:
- IT Courses
- Community Breakfasts on the second Saturday of each month and Community lunches on the first Tuesday of each month.
- Women's groups (women's fellowship and keep fit classes)
- Youth group and community cinema which is run at present every Thursday evening.
- We provide a facility to enable special needs kids to train for recognised qualifications in catering.
- Age concern day centre - Fridays
We are also a newly formed group who are looking to promote sport and recreation within our own community. At present we are looking towards building a new build within the park to accommodate and support a variety of user groups from junior football teams to the local cricket team.
We are also trying to develop the whole park by providing facilities to enable it to be used during the day and night both during the summer and the winter months by providing an all weather general pitch for bowls, an artificial cricket square and nets to enable the three existing junior teams and two senior teams to practice under flood lighting.
