The Green Box Project
DCRP was set-up in 2001. Designed to address the ever growing need for sustainable waste practices, whilst maximising benefit to the community by creating jobs, training opportunities, educational awareness programmes, and empowering disadvantaged communities to help themselves. The scheme, from humble beginnings, has broken away from grant dependency. Following the award of contract it now carries out a kerbside service collecting dry-recyclable materials at nearly 60, properties with a workforce of some 46 employees. Along the way the company has overcome many barriers facing Social Enterprises, to become long lasting and hard wearing.
