Yorkshire Forward Creating Better Futures Awards 2008

The Yorkshire Forward Creating Better Futures Awards 2008 has been established to highlight the successful partnerships between the private sector and voluntary, community and faith organisations. The awards aim to demonstrate the true partnership working between the sectors and are designed to encourage the sharing and development of skills, knowledge and ability within the community economic development agenda whilst promoting best practice.
The Yorkshire Forward Creating Better Futures Awards 2008 builds on the success of the Building Better Businesses and Communities Conference 2007, where Yorkshire Forward brought together leaders from the private sector and community groups for the first time to share expertise and experience, and to match community and volunteer projects with business.
Over the last nine years, Yorkshire Forward has worked with a wide range of partners to support community-based economic development. During this time there have been many inspiring projects, along with the organisations managing them, whose work deserves to be publicly rewarded.
Why should you enter?
Awards will be presented to both organisations, along with a £10,000 bursary to the voluntary, community and faith organisation involved in the partnership. Receiving a Creating Better Futures Award will help raise your organisation's profile whilst increasing awareness of the partnership. In addition, Yorkshire Forward aims to increase collaborations between the business and community sector as a result of the event.

- Ambition Award
- Diversity Award
- Leadership Award
- Involvement Award
- Creating a Culture of Change Award
- Partnership Working Award
- Measuring Effectiveness Award

Award applications can be submitted on behalf of the partnership by either the business or the VCF organisation; however the application must be endorsed by both partners. All applications must be received by 12.00pm on Thursday 20th March 2008. An awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 7th May at Leeds Town Hall.
